As a registered nurse who was constantly on the go, this 55-year-old woman wanted to reduce the size of her breasts to alleviate her back and neck pain. Her breasts filled a 38DDD bra size and put unnecessary strain on her neck and shoulders, so she decided to search for a plastic surgeon in Indiana who could deliver the relief she was looking for.

 

At her personal consultation, I carefully reviewed her medical history and physical condition, and found that she was a good candidate to achieve a  smaller breast size through breast reduction. After I recommended a surgical approach that would fit her needs, she agreed to surgery and we discussed how she should prepare for her procedure.

 

Her surgery was performed at Lakepark Surgicare in Hobart, Indiana, as an outpatient procedure with general anesthesia. For smaller-scale breast reduction I can sometimes limit the incisions to around the areola only, but in most cases women with very large or very saggy breasts will need an incision from the areola to the breast fold as well, and sometimes laterally along the breast fold. The scars from these incisions can take about a year to fade, but for most patients the comfort and quality of life changes of their procedure make it completely worth it.

 

The patient's bra size is now a small D cup as a result of her breast reduction in Indiana. Her breasts no longer cause her back and shoulders pain, and she can concentrate more on enjoying her life. She is very pleased with how proportional and flattering her breasts now look.
