This 28-year-old chemist wore a B-cup bra and wanted to increase her breast size so that she could fill a full C or small D bra. She decided to find a plastic surgeon she trusted to help her evaluate her options and decide whether a breast enlargement procedure in Indiana would be appropriate for her. She called my Schererville office and set a time to meet with me. I carefully evaluated which options would give her the results she wanted, taking into account her sizing goals and body shape. When patients have a very slim shape before surgery, I'll often recommend placing the implant below the chest muscle. The muscle covers the upper portion of the implant, giving the breast a softer, more natural feel and helping the breast blend into the chest contour more naturally. Thinner women tend to opt for the silicone implants since they tend to feel softer, but saline implants can also get very nice results. This particular patient opted for silicone-gel implants, and after we decided on 350cc implants, she made an appointment to receive her surgery at Lake Park Surgicare in Hobart, Indiana. I perform breast augmentation as an outpatient procedure, with the patient under general anesthesia. This patient received her silicone-gel implants through an incision in the breast crease. As the post-surgical photo shows, she healed very well and looks great. Both she and I were very pleased with her results, and she is very happy to be able to wear a D-cup bra. The surgeon is very pleased with her results from the breast augmentation in Indiana and it made him happy to see that she seemed immediately to be more confident in herself.
