This patient is a 46 year old woman from Dyer and is the mother of two children. She presented to my office in Munster, Indiana with an interest in breast augmentation, something she had been thinking about for many years. She wanted to fill out her tops, dresses, and bathing suits more fully. She did not breast feed, and there was no history of breast cancer in her family.

 

At the time of her consultation, she expressed a desire to be enhanced to a full B or a C cup. This seemed appropriate for her height and weight. Her physical exam revealed small breasts with no sagginess and good symmetry. After a thorough discussion we felt that her expectations were realistic, and I could achieve the result she desired.

 

She underwent a breast augmentation in the surgery center adjacent to my plastic surgery office. Based on the dimensions of her chest and her breasts, we decided on a 290cc high profile, smooth, saline implant. This implant had the volume she desired and was more likely to appear natural and fit her body shape. It was filled to 310cc. It was placed under the muscle through a small incision in the crease under her breast.  A general anesthetic was used, and she went home the same day of surgery. Her recovery was uneventful, and she was back at her office employment a week later. Some patients, where heavy lifting is required in their employment, may require additional time off from work.

 

The before and after photos of her breast augmentation surgery show a natural enhancement from an A cup to a C cup. One can see why she was delighted with her new look.
