This 32 year old Indiana woman is shown here before and after breast lift surgery.  She was previously receiving skin care treatments in our Munster, Indiana office and decided to obtain a consultation to improve the appearance of her breasts.  She shared with Dr. Galante, an Indiana plastic surgeon specializing in the breast lift procedure, that she was bothered by sagging and a difference in size between her breasts (this is also called “breast asymmetry”). She was satisfied with the manner that her breasts fit in her bra and was not interested in breast implants for enlargement.

Her main problem was excess skin, and the most appropriate procedure to remove the skin and reshape the breast was a mastopexy (breast lift).  A thorough discussion with the patient informed her that the trade off of obtaining a more pleasing and youthful breast shape was slightly more scars.  However, the majority of the scars in a breast lift are camouflaged within the border of the areola and in the crease under the breast.

She underwent a breast lift under general anesthesia as an outpatient.  She was able to shower the following day and was back to work within a week. 

Her before and after photos demonstrate the improvement that can be gained with a breast lift.  The before photos show sagging and the difference in size of her breasts. The  after photos, taken 3 months following the surgery, show the breasts to be more symmetrical and uplifted.  The scars have faded during that time period, and overall, she has a more youthful appearance to her breasts which met her expectations.
