Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery Results for Valparaiso, Munster, and Merrillville and Northwest Indiana Patients

This patient is a 68 year old Northwest Indiana woman who sought a plastic surgery consultation with Dr. Galante in his Munster, IN office. Her concerns were baggy and heavy upper and lower eyelids making her look tired. She had not had any prior facial plastic surgery.

 

Her physical examination revealed dermatochalasis (redundant skin) of the upper eyelids and bulging or prolapsing fat of the lower eyelids. In addition, she had excess skin on her lower eyelids causing folds and wrinkles. These changes associated with aging are evident in the before and after plastic surgery photos of her eyelids.

 

A blepharoplasty ( eyelid lift) was the treatment of choice to address her problem. It rejuvenates the eyes by removing the excess skin and contouring the fat pockets. This procedure was performed as an out patient under local anesthesia with sedation. The patients are under a light sleep and are kept very comfortable throughout the operation with this type of anesthesia. Cold compresses are all that is required for the first several days of the recovery period. Her sutures were removed on the third day, and with the exception of mild bruising, she was able to be out in public within a week.

 

The before and after photos of her eyelid lift demonstrate the dramatic improvement that is realized with this procedure. She has a more alert and rested appearance without obvious signs of having undergone plastic surgery.
